Herdade Papa Leite

 

Situated in the heart of Alentejo, in Alter do Chão, Herdade Papa Leite dates back to the XVII Century, which is still visible today.

Filipe Barreiros Cardoso, is passionate about region and consequently the property. He  acquired Herdade Papa Leite in order to fulfil his dream of creating high quality products.

The execution of this dream was only possible with the support of his family and the team with which he works.

For centuries, the main agricultural activities of the property were dedicated to the cultivation of cereal, olive groves, holm and cork oak.

With the reproduction of the already existing Alentejo breed, and the introduction of Aberdeen-Angus, the property’s activities have seen a revival, and presently its almost 320 hectares, as well as breeding cattle, produce wine and olive oil.
